The Airfields area
Hobsonville Point is a peninsula in the northern waters of the Waitematā Harbour, a 20-minute drive northwest of Auckland's city centre. The development of a master-planned community, overseen by Kāinga Ora, will take place over the next decade, and will ultimately have 4,500 homes and a population of about 11,000.
The Airfields is in the northern tip of Hobsonville Point and was formerly part of the Hobsonville air force base. It’s divided into six sections, known as megalots.
At the Airfields, about 14ha of the total 20ha is being developed into homes, with different housing types providing choice for a diverse community. Up to 6ha is proposed for an area of mixed-uses, with employment opportunities
