The Ormiston town centre will be the vibrant heart of Flat Bush that will eventually service a population the size of Gisborne.
Ormiston town centre will be based around a traditional mainstreet format, be compact and pedestrian friendly and have strong ties to the environment.
The 19ha site on Auckland Council-owned land at Ormiston Road began construction in 2013 and the first stage is due for completion in December 2015. Completion of the entire Ormiston development is expected between 2019 and 2022.
The new urban village of housing, retail outlets, eateries and innovative working and living spaces is close to the 94 hectare Barry Curtis Park.

Flat Bush is New Zealand’s largest and most comprehensively planned new town, that will be home to at least 36,000 people by 2025.

Projects such as Ormiston Town Centre also contribute towards the Auckland Plan vision of Auckland becoming the world’s most liveable city.It also contributes to a number of the Howick Local Board Plan outcomes.

Panuku Development Auckland will ensure the town centre is developed on a commercially successful basis, to the best international urban design standards, on behalf of the landowner Auckland Council.
