It’s been six months since the inception of our new organisation and in that time there’s been a lot to talk about when it comes to how we are helping to cater for Auckland’s future growth.
After identifying which locations across the region were ripe for regeneration in December, the Panuku team has been working hard to deliver high level plans for transforming urban centres in Northcote, Takapuna, Manukau and Onehunga.
With many more areas to go, our major work programme is shaping up to be very much a collaborative effort to ensure we live up to expectations as a “can-do” agency that can implement the hopes and wishes local communities have been calling for, for years.
On the housing front, we are seeing good progress on Auckland Council-owned sites for which Panuku is responsible.
In Hobsonville Point, construction of over 90 homes is about to get underway on the former Marine Precinct site as part of the first stage of the Airfields development. Further south the first homes have been completed in the 19 hectare Ormiston Town Centre development as part of a partnership with Todd Property.
Our development team has also been working with local communities in Avondale and Whangaparaoa to deliver smaller scale housing developments due to get underway in coming months.
