Gasometer car park site
Just 200m away is the 6000sqm Gasometer site on the corner of Huron, Northcroft and Auburn streets. Construction of a new car park is underway and the rest is primed for high-quality development and street landscape improvements that will contribute to Takapuna’s identity.
The five-storey facility will cater for Takapuna’s current and future car parking needs. It will provide 420 parking spaces as well as electric car charging stations, motorbike parking, bike storage, accessibility parking and facilities like changing rooms and lockers.
Along with the new car park, the 6000sqm Gasometer site will eventually be home to a high-quality blend of commercial, retail and residential spaces. It will assist in the ongoing growth of the Takapuna town centre.
Car park construction
Argon Construction started building the new car park in late October 2018. We expect it will be finished in the second half of 2020.
To minimise disruption, construction on the Gasometer site only happens during certain daytime hours (usually 7am-6pm) and the site will be kept secured and tidy.
