Park Hyatt Hotel
Finishing touches are fast approaching for New Zealand’s first hotel under the five-star Park Hyatt brand. It’s transforming the vista of the eastern edge of Wynyard Quarter.
As part of the hotel’s development, a stunning water’s edge promenade will open up part of the Viaduct Harbour previously closed to the public.
The new Park Hyatt will reflect its Waitematā Harbour location and be distinctly Tāmaki Makaurau.. The exterior design centres on the notion of a Māori cloak around the seven-storey building; a double skin offering warmth, privacy and beauty.
When completed in July 2019, the hotel will boast 195 rooms, food and drink outlets, event spaces, a spa, fitness centre and a 25m pool. It is designed by Singapore-based practice ar+d Workshop in partnership with New Zealand firm Bossely Architects.
